340 of 354 people found the following review helpful Graco My Ride Car Seat, January 3, 2012 This is actually the second Graco My Ride 65 car seat we've purchased. We had one for my baby from 4 months old- 11 months old when we were in a car accident. A car hit us head on and then we were hit from behind by a dump truck. The car was totaled but with my baby in this seat, he came away without even a bruise or bump to show for it! I immediately decided to replace it with the same seat that protected my child so well.
Besides being so safe, I love that my child will be able to fit in it for such a long time. He loves sitting in it and it seems really comfortable for him. The straps are really easy to adjust also, which is wonderful when working about winter coats and such. It is a rather large seat and might not fit well in small vehicles, but we love ours! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? 133 of 155 people found the following review helpful Saved My Granddaughter's Life, May 19, 2013 My daughter bought the Graco My Ride 65LX (Asbury) for my granddaughter last month. The baby is 10 months old and 20 pounds. She installed the car seat forward facing. Now I know that it's safer to keep them rear-facing for as long as possible, but this was my daughter's choice. Anyway, they were involved in a bad accident the other day. They were driving 70 mph (the speed limit) on the highway when they were run off the road. They were in a 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback (a fairly small economy car). The seat was installed in the center of the rear seat. The car rolled over three times before coming to a stop on all four wheels. The baby didn't even have so much as a bump or bruise on her. She was fine. I love this car seat. I believe it saved her life. Even forward facing for a baby that small, she came out of it without a scratch. I highly recommend this seat. It's comfortable, she's happy in it, it holds her head up when she sleeps, and the seat has great side protection. I also... We have installed it in a 2011 Honda Accord and a 2013 Kia Sorento, and it's worked well in both vehicles. I love that it's well-padded, and it seems super comfortable for our 17 month-old daughter. Compared to our "spare" carseat (a Cosco Scenera), it's a Cadillac! The seat cover is easy to wash, and I love the two cup-holders. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because it is HUGE and a little difficult to get a nice, tight install using the LATCH system. It wasn't until we watched a quick, 30-second video on YouTube that we found the solution: pull the LATCH belt towards the inside of the seat instead of pulling straight up. We were pulling the belt up towards us, which wasn't getting it as tight as it needed to be for a rock-solid, rear-facing installation. Now, the carseat doesn't budge at all! I'm so glad we found that video, otherwise, we were... Read more Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
