As our rear facing car seat is placed in the middle of the back seat there is no headrest. The other mirrors (Brica) we tried were "apparently" supposed to be able to install without a headrest but they did not work out in the slightest. Both fell over within minutes. Fast forward through dozens of failed attempts later to get them to stay up and then we found this one on Amazon. It straps to the adjacent headrest (with two buckle straps) and pivots which ever way you need it to. You can also adjust the angle for which ever way you need as well. It has never fallen down or off but every two weeks or so I give the straps a quick pull to ensure they are secure. This mirror has worked in the following cars for us thus far:
- '06 Hyundai Sonata - '07 Hyundai Santa Fe - '08 Ford F150 - '11 Chevy Equinox

Since I'm expecting another daughter at the end of the month, I came to Amazon to purchase another one, when I came across the Britax Back Seat Mirror. It didn't have any reviews yet, but it looked nice, and I like Britax, so I decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, I love this mirror. It is sooo easy and quick to install, get secure, and angled correctly. The nice part is that it has straps to secure it to the headrest and then a pivot mount to adjust the angle, so you can secure it first and then adjust the angle. With the Baby In Sight mirror, you have to angle it and secure it all in the same step. I also had to stuff a blanket behind the mirror in order to keep it secure and at the right angle. The Britax is so much easier. The other thing I love about this mirror is how clear it is. It's almost as... The thing that sold me on this mirror was the fact that it could be securely fastened to the seat's headrest by two clasp joints, and not flimsy velcro; and the fact that it could be angled. The two clasps that wrap around the headrest vertically and horizontally are great. I haven't had any trouble with the straps coming loose (if they do start to come loose, I'll probably just get them as tight as I need them, then put a safety pin right below the clasp so that the straps can't slide loose). The ball and socket joint that allows you to angle the mirror is NOT great! It's way to easy to bump the mirror when you're putting the child in their car seat...of course, I didn't usually notice the mirror had been bumped out of the right position until after I'd get in to drive. If, on the off chance you DON'T bump the... Read more Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
