Fits in the middle of the back of a 2009 Honda Civic sedan! Quite a feat for a convertible carseat. I only rated it a 4 because once my daughter is taller her legs will touch either the middle console or the back of a front seat. So more of a car problem really. Great seat, great price, and great for compact cars! And easy installation, too! 

I'm with all the reviewers who are stunned by the great reviews of this car seat. We purchased it in desperation before a long trip for Christmas and have regretted it every trip (only one or two a week). We flew it back to the grandparents and that's where it will be staying (even though they can't use it either).

As as dad in my mid-thirties I can't image how one would have enough hand strength to get your child unbuckled from this seat. It's beyond difficult, it's even convinced us not to drive on occasion -- which kinds defeats the point. The crotch buckle is buried beneath my thin 3 1/2 y-o son, I can't imagine a bigger kid being able to use this.

We have a massive toddler seat before this that was at least a 1/3 lighter. This is nearly impossible to carry, pull a suitcase and hold your kids hand...
